Quavo’s “Trance” Filmed in Marbella: Behind the Scenes of an International Music Video Production

Marbella was recently the setting for Quavo’s “Trance (Walk It Down)”, bringing an international music video production to the Costa del Sol and transforming one of the city's most striking locations into a film set.
Produced by Sovereign Bloc and directed by Daps, the official music video was filmed in Marbella, Spain, combining Mediterranean light, contemporary architecture, fashion and the unmistakable atmosphere of the southern Spanish coast.
For this production, Chris Rey Media provided Local Service Production in Marbella, supporting the international production on the ground and working alongside the wider Spanish and international crew.
What appears on screen is only one part of the story. This is a look behind the scenes.
TRANCE: QUAVO IN MARBELLA
Released in August 2026, Trance (Walk It Down) marks another chapter in Quavo’s new musical era.
Produced musically by Pharrell Williams, the track arrives with a visual world built around summer, movement, fashion and Mediterranean heat.
For the official video, director Daps takes Quavo through Marbella — moving between streets, terraces, poolside scenes and more intimate environments while combining cinematic 16mm texture with the immediacy of camcorder footage. Marbella isn't simply visible in the finished video.
Its light, architecture and landscape become part of its visual identity.

BEHIND THE SCENES: WHAT HAPPENS OUTSIDE THE FRAME
A music video may last only a few minutes. Behind those minutes is an entire production ecosystem. Camera. Lighting. Art department. Styling. Hair and makeup. Locations. Production. Catering. Security. Transport. Equipment. Talent.
And, above all, people.
Our behind-the-scenes images from Trance document this other side of the production: the preparation around the camera, conversations between departments, lighting setups under the Marbella sun, monitors, equipment, waiting, adjustments and all the small moments that eventually become part of a finished frame.
For Chris Rey Media, this is also what local production service means. Knowing the territory and helping an international production operate locally, while becoming one part of a much larger team.

INTERNATIONAL PRODUCTIONS, LOCAL KNOWLEDGE
Bringing an international audiovisual production to another country requires much more than finding a beautiful location. Local production services connect an incoming production with the territory in which it needs to work.
Locations, local crew, production coordination, suppliers, equipment, logistics, transport, catering and the many practical requirements surrounding a shooting day all become part of that process.

MARBELLA AS AN INTERNATIONAL FILM LOCATION
There is another story behind this production that matters to us.
Marbella is changing. Long established internationally as a destination for tourism, architecture, luxury and lifestyle, the city also offers something increasingly relevant to the audiovisual industry: an extraordinary concentration of locations within a relatively small geographical area.
Mediterranean coastline. Contemporary architecture. Private villas. Urban environments.
Mountains and natural landscapes. Marinas and roads.
And a quality of natural light that has always been one of southern Spain's greatest production assets. But locations alone do not create a production destination.
The infrastructure around them does.
Local crews, technicians, production companies, studios, equipment rental, location professionals, hospitality and production services are what allow international teams to arrive in Marbella and actually work here. Productions such as Trance make that ecosystem visible.

Based in Marbella, Chris Rey Media works across production studios, professional camera and lens rental and local production support, providing infrastructure for audiovisual productions working in Marbella and the Costa del Sol.
The Chris Rey Media production studios provide more than 330 m² dedicated to photo, video, podcast and cinema production, alongside professional equipment and technical facilities.
But production doesn't always happen inside a studio. Projects move.
They take over villas, streets, beaches, hotels and locations across southern Spain.
Our role is to be able to move with them.
